show off your led tanks

Here was my 300g after a brief experimentation with LEDs. A very costly experiment to say the least. I wasn't happy with coverage so ultimately bagged the LEDs and went with a hybrid combo of LEDs and MH.

Here's the tank with 3 x 250W Phoenix 14K (SE) and 72 LED's for Actinic supplementation:

anybody has long term success with led and large sps tank,
I had to cell all my sps and fish from 600 g ( high electric bills),waiting for led tech to improve or some one real to tell about long term success,

I thought the LED'S were cheaper to run? I know I am saving an @$$ load of money when I switched from a Ice Cap VHO 4 light set up to a 6 light T-5 setup.

Here is my 240 with AI leds. Set up last Nov so its just a year. I love the lights and will never go back to MH. Sps are doing great with growth and color, still have a lot of corals to buy!

In theory, they are considerably cheaper to run depending on the components. The main issue seems to be getting the right combination of color to get the same kind of pop you can get with mH/t5. So far the experimentation hasn't seemed to get it quite there. Maybe 85-90% there. At least that is what I am hearing/seeing from LED users.

I'm currently running MH only but am very interested in doing an LED build at some point in the relatively near future. I'm really looking forward to seeing more pics in this thread, especially those showing growth over time.
