These are similar, but with white striping in the skirts and more controlled speckling around the outer circle of the oral disc. I think they are the same as your first pic.

fwiw seattleguy....I would not call those magicians. I would call them speckled RPE's like most simialr polyps you see.
To be sure, Im nto saying that one polyp is necessarily nicer than the other, Im just saying they do not have the characteristics that make magicians.....magicians
What sets magicians apart and makes them a little extra unique, is the color and substance of the spackling regardless of how much of it there is and irregardless of potential environmental morphing.
The color of the spackling on magicians is a exact match, and extension of the tell tale color of a "PE's" mouth, which as gflat said, is a mandatory characteristic of any zoanthus gigantus I have ever heard of. It doesnt make it absolute as he said....but at this point that is the general consensus. The form the spackels takes on in any condition is different as well, but if you look closely you will see the color thing I am talking about, even if from afar it may appear the same
I have never seen that on any polyp before. It doesnt make them nicer, but it does make them more unique in my mind, and ive said it before and Ill say it again. Anybody has the polyps that I just described and pictured regardless fo what you or me wants to call them. Get in touch. Ill let you stick your hands in my tank and tit for tat grab whatever you want polyp for polyp![]()

Are you saying that magicians have a very specific speckled pattern?
I am asking not arguing? If so and the ones you have pictured is what they look like then I would say the Red one's I have pictured in this thread look better than the original. JMO
I think the more sparkles they have the better because they stand out more.
I am not true collector so having one with linage means very little to me but I do like to be informed?
