Got it a few weeks ago by mail-order. The bag had broken during shipping and the remaining water was brown. The gig was gaping badly in my display after one day, so out it came. I put in a 10gal with cipro and chloramphenicol and a daylight CFL for a week. The mouth isn't completely closed yet, but its slowly improving each day.

I was able to get chloramphenicol and cipro through a local small animal vet clinic. I would add one 250mg tablet of chloramphenicol and 1/2 a 250mg tablet of cipro once a day to a 10gal QT. I would change 50% of the water in the AM and 50% again in the PM, and add the meds in the PM right after the water change. Seems to have worked so far... fingers crossed!!

Chloramphenicol is a dificult medication to get, at least for me.

3 month update of gigantea. Continuing to grow bigger with elongated tentacles. Starting to sting the neighbouring SPS. Anemone grabs whatever food it can when I feed the clowns Rod's food and mysis. The clowns are laying eggs also.
