pmi xl4 w/hammerhead pump which dumps into 125gl fuge

Wow That was a custom build from them it looks like? Makes my XL1 look small! Very impresive I thought the only used 1 becket unless custom build?

Looking good here. If you use a beckett post your pump also. I shopped around and chose becket and was told they are energy hogs. I found a 115w pump that is supposed to crank this and told by pm its the recomended pump. I dont know if the needlewheel skimmers with multiple pumps would save energy.

The adjustable overflow for the skimmer tank, so that I can adjust the depth the skimmer is in without finding stuff to stick under it.

Gotta love skimmer threads..

neoz, what model is that reef octopus?

setting up a 180 after a long time away. what skimmer would you guys recommend for a heavily stocked mixed sps/lps tank?

Looking at a deltec 702 versus a bk sm 250 but would love to get a similar skimmer at a lower price. needs to be sump based as the available area is only under the tank.

That is a really cool idea. I have never seen that done before but it is really impressive. I would have never though of doing that.

Thanks Keith.
It sure is easier to adjust and looks better than the stack of ceramic tile I shoved under the skimmer in the past.

Roni its a Super Reef Octopus 3000 in sump skimmer. In short terms SRO 3000. It has room to grow as I might be going to a 300 Gallon. This skimmer will run that as well.

now i am only running 3 pump but i triple the air intake more energy efficient and pulls more mud

My skimmer runs using 4 Sedra 9000 NW pumps. It is gravity fed directly from one of my tank overflows at about 650gph. The chamber is 12"D x 40"H.

One of the pumps pulls ozone into the skimmer and there is a carbon top on top of the collection cup to absorb any released ozone.

I skim quite wet and pull about 3 cups per day on average.

After a few months, I was able to locate a Reeflo Orca 250 ProKit with upgraded needlewheel, taller column and collector cup on steroids:
