Here's my PT

This shot was taken over a year ago, but I thought I'd post it anyway, I think it's a neat shot. I don't have my tangs anymore, or a tank at all - tore it down last year, in the process of setting up a new one. The tangs are now living in a friend's 200 gallon tank. A bit more room than they had in my 90. I sure miss this guy, though, he was my favorite

Re: Satan himself

Re: Satan himself

This is possibly the meanest, most aggressive fish I have ever owned.

:D

Well at least it is beautiful. Other wise you might bring it back to the LFS.

Heres a pic of one in Maui. It was well over a foot long. I still don't have a picture of my little one.

I did not see any achlles in Maui Prugs. You are lucky :)

We saw them on the south west end of the island & lots at Molokini Crater. The one in the picture was from Molokini Crater.

I think this is an acanthurus nigrofuscus. Fairly uncommon, but not rare if that makes any sense. I see them ever now and then.
I am 85 % sure. Did you get any other potential ids?
Isn't this the other Powder Brown Tang, something like Japonicus (sp?). There is always some confusion between these two, but that is my understanding.

BlueNwhite, you are correct that is an acanthurus japonicus, aka white faced tang, both a.japonicus and a.nigrofuscus are ( mistakedly) called powder browns.

Great pic fishdad!

Here's my Yellow Tang. It's nowhere near as aggressive as the PBT I posted earlier. I love this fish. Not the best shot though;)

That is really funny because I went to the crater last year. I did see a ton of Nasos and a few yellows. I guess I scared off all of the Achellies

You can find Gem Tangs at the Marine Center occasionally for a few hundred bones.

The last ones the Marine Center had were years ago and they were $1800... the fish is even tougher to find now...

Anyway, here's my group, with at least the second rarest Zebrasoma... Z. rostratum... the black tang, much tougher to get nowadays than even a couple of years ago, but nothing like the gem... another notable is the goldrim/powder blue hybrid...

And with flash under actinics only...

hey copps, i absolutely love those pics!!! the colors are unreal! Love the regals, how long have you had them? I really want one.
