Show off your Tangs/Surgeonfish!!

My purple tang. I've had him for a couple years now. He was my only surviving fish when a cucumber got sucked through my closed loop and nuked my tank. Tough dude!

I would say that it is a Mata tang aswell.

It does look like a mata when it changes colors a lot but when the lights are off, the ring tail really shows through. I can also see him getting the blue part on his tail, like recty's duss. I still believe blochii, but mata has crossed my mind. It won't take long to find out, since he grows so fast! He should be close to a foot by the end of the year.

Western reefer, what kind of anemone is that?
The one you see in the reflection, purple with green tentacles, is a Purple Florida Flower Anemone. :)

I did a quick google image search of both species and they do seem to be very similar, so I guess it could be either one, but either way both are beautiful species.

Here is a pic of my latest addition.
He's a Fowleri tank. Also known as a Horseshoe tang. He's around 6 inches and the biggest fish in my tank. I apologize for the bad pic. I have a cheap camera and not much photo skills.

Looks great, I really love the fowleri tangs :) I wish I didnt already have a 9" dussu in my tank, I'd love to add a fowleri.

Thanks Recty.
You take awesome pics. I really enjoyed them.
9" is a big fish. My 6" fowleri looked HUGE when I first put him in.
I have never had such a big fish before so it took me a while to get used to his size.

Is your whitecheek a menace to fish society? My cousin has one and he loves to battle it out with everything in the tank.
