Blond Naso!
DSC_0446.jpg

That's what mine looks like. Just combo of my crappy picture and the angle it's at. If you look close you can see the yellow on the fin just a really bad picture. I will do my best tonight to get a better pic. he does not coroperate very well though he is a fast swimmer. I made sure to get a Blond, as this was one of the fish i allways wanted. But i like my PB more now.

Very nice pictures. Did u ever have any problems with your Powder blue? Meaning ich and stuff like that. Also did you QT?
Man... seriously seriously QT a PBT for a minimum of 6 weeks. I would even do some type of medicated or hypo QT if I could go back an do it over.

Almost every member I talked to went through some type of outbreak with the fish.

If you followed my thread, I went through trouble eating, and black ich while he was in QT for almost 6 weeks... Then about a week or two after I added him to the display he broke out with regular ich. He seems to have beat that on his own, and developed an immunity to whatever strain was in my tank. But the fact of the matter is that they are very sensitive fish. So do your research and make sure you have the means to QT and everything you could possibly need on hand ahead of time to treat the fish at the first warning sign.

they do develop better health through an excellent diet and occasionally adding garlic to the food but I don't think they ever develop full immunity to ich

Agreed, I have no doubt the PBT situation helped alot of reefers out too. Shows that some good can come out of bad and I'm glad hes back in good shape now. ;)

Well said, IMO Acanthurus are more susceptible to ich than Zebrasoma. I would never recommend not QT'ing a fish although often they can fight it on their own but another great thing about QT is it can prevent it from spreading to other fish, no matter how bad the disease is QT is a must IMO.

I am wondering if the ich problem with powder blues is regional
I know is sounds like the captn is losing it but no one in my little corner of the third rock from the sun is having any problems with powder blues and ich
On the local reef forum there is no talk of ich like we have had on here.

 I have never really heard of PBT and ich problems on this side of the globe either. But I spend like 1% of my time on English forums and 99% on RC.

Nice Naso pics! I have seen some with streamers on their tails....is this only in a specific gender, or do they all get streamers when they get older?

that makes the concept even more interesting. Yeah I know what you mean about local forums--I moved on from the days where I upset the local "boys" by asking too many questions.
