Thanks!!

The orange shoulder is the reason I setup the 450 gallon tank. I couldnt think of getting rid of her!!!! She is my favorite fish. Very passive and very easy to take care of. I have had her over 3 yrs now.

All those tangs except for one of the blue hippos are in the same tank, a 1200 gallon tank, soon to be 1700 gallons. I put about 2 sheets of nori in per day and they are gone in seconds, I'd feed more nori but am currently fighting a losing battle with nitrates and phosphates. I also add some spirulina flake food daily, but all my tangs are very eager to eat meaty foods ranging from cocktail shrimp that they often steal from the eel down to mysis and prime reef. Good stuff.

have you tried these--they are excellent and keep down the nitrates and phosphates--they keep that tangs busier a lot longer

Interesting, might have to look into those. Somehow I don't think even those would last in the tank very long though. I swapped in a huge rock into the tank from a fish only tank that was probably 35 pounds and completely furry with hair algae. The rock was totally white like 6 hours later, picked absolutely clean. Not too worried about their diet at this point, everyone is really healthy in the tank.

I just added the naso tang to the Naso tang blog

http://www.reefcentral.com/wp/?p=350

Thanks Capn, that's exactly what I was going to pm you about.

I appreciate the info, the blonde naso is the only tang in my 180, and the only one planned (take that tang cops! ;) ) My problem is that without any other surgeonfish in the tank to give feeding cues, he hasn't taken to nori or julian springs veggie sheets yet.

Haven't seen anything new in here in a while so I thought I'd post a new pic of my lavender since he's all colored up now.

Thanks! When I first got him I understood why the other common name was a 'brown' tang. Luckily I knew the potential hidden under that drab exterior and he certainly hasn't dissapointed!
