Show Us Your ORA Picasso Clowns

I am giving them a mixture of things, tetra flake, frozen mysis, baby brine and cyclopeze.

They are not hosting anything yet. My RBTA died and I have not replaced it. I did put a pom-pom xenia in the main tank that was in the sump. It is three stalks and not huge but I thought they might like it until I get another bta. I did add an elegance coral yesterday and one of my local reef club members suggested that maybe their slime coat was weekend from the stress of the recent shipment (1 week ago) and that the elegance had stung them when they tried to host it. I haven't seen them try to host the elegance but that is definately a possibility. She said her clowns had that happen with a torch coral. I have them in a hospital tank with Maracyn-Two on her recommendation.

yeah that sounds like a problem with the elegance, just be careful with them because they can get stung to where they die, i had that happen to one of my onyx clowns with a carpet anemone and it sucked!! well good luck with them...

Thanks! They are already coloring up and eat like pigs now. The came down with some kind of infection. I have them in quarantine now. They seem to be unaffected by all of it but the fungus was very apparent on the side of one of the pair. Hopefully they will pull through without any complications. If anyone has any ideas of exactly what it is, please lmk.

I'm sorry, and I hope you don't get offended by this, but the tank conditions look horrific. I know it's a bad camera, but that doesn't explain all the particulate matter in the water. The fish look malnourished as well. This may be due in part to the sickness. I'm not surprised that the fish became ill under those conditions. I'm just saying this because I believe the fish will become ill again if returned to that tank. I hope you can take my advice and clean the tank up and run some good filtration. Then the fish probably wont have these problems any more.
Good luck

No offense taken, I should have mentioned that I had just barely scraped the algae off of the tank walls. That is why so much particulate matter is in the water. The water is normally clear. I have lots of filtration going, floss changed regularly, purigen, chemipure, chaeto and a nice refugium, skimmer (which will be replaced soon with a bigger model but is adequate now). They are eating well and have actually started to fatten up a bit. Oh, and the camera is crap.

hexedagain, those picassos are awesome! What do you feed, what do they host in, what are your tank parameters? I would absolutelly love it if mine color up like that. BTW, nice pictures! What camera do you use. I am in dire need of a new camera!

I feed them ORA glow, prime reef, Rods food, frozen rotifers, and cyclopees. I rotate and feed them one of those daily.
Believe it or not, they host the sand. :eek1: They used to host a paly colony I had until I moved them from that tank.
Pictures were taken with a Canon Rebel XTi, with a Canon 100mm macro lense.

leoslizards I got these from one of my LFS in Orlando. Sea in the City. They have a website, and a waiting list for these and snowflakes also.

reefman13 you will have to get through my guard dog first. She's a bad one too, see...

Your ankles will be in great danger of being licked off. They were selling guard dogs by the pound. I could only afford 2 pounds worth.

And thank you to everyone else with the compliments.

rods food is amazing....whats your opinoin on the ORAglow?

I think that it is the ORAglow that brings the black out like that. I wasn't feeding my snowflakes the ORAglow until I started seeing the black coming in on these guys. Since I started feeding it to the snowflakes, their black is filling in nicely.

i have seen this tank personally it is one of the cleanest tanks i have seen they reason they probably got malnourished is dew to the fact that he has had them about 1 week
