Showing Off My New Setup

So I finally set up a 37g column tank that will eventually be all nems. Right now it holds a H. Crispa, a RBTA, and a bi-color BTA. There are also 2 ocellaris and 2 domino damsels that all love to be hosted by BTAs. I plan to sell the H. Crispa and get a sand anemone, maybe a H. Malu or a H. Aurora? And I also want to get a GBTA with yellow tips and/or RBTA with yellow tips and/or a yellow "lemondrop" BTA.

Obviously, not real sure how that all will play out but you get the idea. The end result, hopefully, will be rocks completely hidden by various color morphs of BTAs and one nice looking nem in the sandbed.

The sump is a 15g high with 6.5 inches of sand for a DSB with a filter sock, skimmer, phosphate reactor, and macroalgae. All the stuff in the display came from an old 29g I had for nearly 2 years. It was going well but it was mostly macroalgae and looked bad. Plus the lights were dying anyway so I was really looking forword to this upgrade. So far this tank has been running well for 7 days and only the RBTA moved the first day then they've all stayed put since.

Domino damsels, one of my favorite.

Do they host the nems with the clowns?

No, they take turns. Mostly the clowns will bounce from nem to nem but spend most of their time in the H. Crispa. The damsels only want to be hosted by the BTAs and whenever the clowns roll through, the damsels just wait at the edge of the BTA. If they try to move in the clowns run them off but only just barely out of the nem.

To be fair, the nem LITERALLY isn't big enough for the both of them. I'm hoping they will play nicer when it's hard to tell the nems apart.

I think an H. Aurora with heavy stripe coloration always looks incredible. i saw an amazing picture of one in a national geograpic hosting bangia cardinals.

Agreed! I think white/tan or green with numerous DARK stripes would blow me away. Thanks for the input.

LOL, don't get carried away now. I've been contemplating learning enough German to place an overseas order that would cost around $100 and may not make it alive just to get a similar anemone. In comparison, a 5 hour road trip to hang out in Tennessee for the weekend is starting to sound reasonable! Hahaha.

Thanks garygb, it's doing great. When I took it out of the old setup I got some great shots of the underside, but then I decided to "let sleeping dogs lie" since I'd dragged the ID thread out for so long already.

I put in almost double the LR since this pic and put a K3 in on the right, replacing the K2 on the left. I think the landscape looks better and the flow through anemones' tentacles is more random now. Since I did this the H. Crispa moved down to the sand and now looks almost spot-on for the ID. I'll try to post a new pic tonight.

Do those have some yellow in them? They have some good coloration either way.

I am running 4 20,000k 250 watt mhs,with 4 54 watt t5s actenics,the anemone with the neon foot isn't a bta.It packs a potent sting,my onyx clowns had to be removed it was stinging them to the point their fins and body was getting sores.I still haven't found a id yet.When open it is approx 14'' across,it was the size of a half dollar when I bought it.My rbtas have just alittle yellow on the ends,and the real bubbely are red and green with white specs in them.Thanks for your comments.
