shroom ??

hey I got a greenish colored shroom with orangeish pink dots on it....I am wondering about this because I have lost 2 of my 3 fish I had....I think it ate them....it was a green chamoris sp? and a small clown.....the shroom disapears then the next morning a fish is missing and a skelleton is there.....any ideas?

there are certain types of big shrooms that can eat fish, after all mushrooms really are anenomes.

maybe you got a mean hitchhiker in there, i check my tanks at night with red flashlight just to make sure nothing bad in there when i add new corals or live rock.

It's very possible that your fish have died and that bristleworms, nassarius snails or whatever are eating the remains. Your mushroom is too small to worry about unless the fish are tiny.

wow..I see I will definatly bring it back, it is kinda similar but not exactly the same....thanks d french....so I know this is a dumb ? but will all shrooms eat fish? lol if not fed adiquately? I mean I got the darn thing like 2-3 days ago....

yeah the fish are tiny capn! like .5" and the largest is .75" and its still alive

oh and the shroom is shrivled up with a large lump...about the size of the fish curled up...

lol one more thing, I checked the tank like 25 min. before the first post and both clowns were at the top to greet me like always, and then went to my room for a school book like 25 seconds before I posted. the clown was gone and the shroom was in his hiding place curled up thats why I came to the conclusion

I have a tomato clown that has hosted a huge one of those for about a year now, I have had the mushroom for about 3 years and have never had a problem with it eating any fish
