Sick clam needs identifying

This is my first clam. I don't know much about it except it's not looking good. Can anybody identify it? I was out quite a bit when I first got it, now it pretty much sits as you see it. I have tried it up in the rock work and down in the sand bed, no change. The clam is under a 6x54 T5.

I would like to get more, but I need to fix whatever is going on here.

Not the reassuring answer I was hoping for. Is there anything that can be done?

I have been trying to avoid putting him too far up because of the higher flow, but I guess that was a mistake from the lack of light down low.

i did a search on some of your posts. you were having some trouble with water chemistry. did you get that worked out? post results from every test kit you have. exactly how and what are you adding for Ca/Alk

I have not added Calcium up until now because my test has always shown it high.

I haven't been because my less than accurate test kits have shown it high. In my dieing coral post I was told my Calcium was fine if not slightly high.

The issues i had in that thread turned out to be placement, which seems to be an issue with me.

I have a Calcium supplement be Kent, that's all that can be added at this time.

im asking about alk also. in the other post your alk was low, now your showing 9dkh so it was raised somehow. clams are very sensitive to changes in alk. any changes need to be made slowly(days) these additives need to be slowly dripped in

Any change that happened, came from the water changes only. I have a product Coral-vite that I was adding up until I was told to stop in that thread. Sorry, that's the best answers I have.

My Phosphates didn't test that bad to me. They are there, that's a fact. I run Phospure and carbon 24/7, but have not been able to rid my tank of it.

you need to find the source, then worry about getting rid of it.

How many watts per gallon do you have. The Crocea needs at least 5 w/gl. Try getting you phosphate down w/kent power phos not the sponge. High phos maybe from over feeding or lack of export like some macro algae.

6x54watt T5 gives me 324 total watts devided by 72 gallons gives 4.5 watts per gallon.

The fuge now has some Macro in it and a Phosban Reactor has already been ordered.

I didn't think I overfead, but maybe I am.

Unfortuantely the little clam is no longer with us, but I still need to find out what killed it. Maybe a bad clam from the start, he never extended like any other other clam I've seen on here. Maybe it was my tank parameters, maybe bad placement, I don't know.
