sick foxface

My foxface has been getting picked on for two weeks.I just got him two weeks ago and my dottyback had been picking on him and stressing him out. He is very shy and scared looking.

He does swim around and he also eats fine, but the past week I've been seeing white spots on his body and fins.

Im thinking it might be ich.

I tried catching him with then net while he was eating on the seaweed clip but there is no way I am catching him. I've spent hours trying.

I wanted to atleast put him in the sump for now until I figured out what to do.

What can I do about this? Can I treat the entire tank with something? I don't want my other fish getting sick.

If you want ich to be gone COMPLETELY you will have to put all the fish in QT and let the tank be fallow for 8 weeks.

what do you mean by fallow?

And what medicine would I use to put my tank into QT?

please read the sticky on ich and try to understand it more.

the only solution for you now is to remove ALL of the fish in the DT into a QT for treatment, and leave the DT fallow (meaning no fish at all, but inverts are fine) for 8-10 weeks. For treatment, either cupramine or hyposalinity will work.

just for your information, small fish like damsels or certain dottybacks are really aggressive for their size. they almost always constantly harrass new additions and that's why we don't recommend them in the first place. you will have to decide whether you want the foxface or the dottyback more.

Okay guys, so I don't think the foxface ad ICH. I believe it was maybe some small air bubbles that got stuck to his body because they were coming and going very quickly. He has absolutely no spots on him, and he is doing very well with my other fish now.

My dottyback will chase him a little bit every once and awhile but the foxface doesn't really pay any mind to him.

The foxface and my tang are like best buds now. They swim next to each other all around the tank

He looks healthy and I have not seen any white spots on him since last week. I'm really glad he is getting along with everyone now.
