Sieo Powerheads

Anyone have issues with the seio powerheads. These piece of crap powerheads stop working every week or so. Yes I clean them with vinegar so it is not calcium or fish crap. I hate these dam powerheads can wait until I move into my house and setup my tunze's in my new tank, but being it is several months away I need a solution for now and the tunze would look really stupid in a 65 gallon. Anyone else having issues with them but what can i expect buying a pump made by Rio. Anyone have any other suggestions on powerheads. Please let me know and I will give them a try.

Seio Powerhead Problems

Seio Powerhead Problems

I have been using Seio 820 for a little over a year, they have never totally stopped but they will bind every so ofter and vibrate knocking like they were going to bind up and then go on like eerything was ok. I have taken them apart afew times to clean but they have been fairly clean. I agree with you, they sure aren't of the greatest quality.

Ive had my 820's for almost 2 years without one single problem. They start up with out much noise on the timers that I have. The only problem I had was when I tried to hook them up to a Natural Wave timer. I only had them on it for several hours because when the timer cycled the powerheads they made a really hard clacking sound before starting. I put my timers back up and no problems. I just got a 1500 and it is working well also. '

Sorry to hear about your troubles. You might have the Monday after a 3 day weekend models (where everyone partied and got drunk). I have a Ford Taurus that was made like that. lol.

I have had mine in for over a year...2 of them...they are on an Aquacontroller III Pro (they were on a Digital Aquatics Reefkeeper previously), and have been working well...

Watch, now they will fail because I am writing this!

same here. mine have been running about a year. some times they stop but just removing the face plate and spinning a few times starts them right back up.. they are alot cheaper then the tunze so you have to realize you do get what you pay for.

i have a 2600, 1100, 2 820's and all run smooth 95% of the time. like everything else they need maintence.

alot cheaper then tunze but I got my streams way before the price hike. They are sitting in the box along with all my other new equipment in storage along with my 210. can't wait to get the new setup. just need to find a house first. LOL. Yes I got all the fish stuff before the house just couldnt pass up the deals I got from my wholesaler. Fish Priorities lol..

Seio powerheads

Seio powerheads

Just purchased two Seio's and the impellar shaft broke on one, and they don't move water like a Hagen 802 powerhead. I switched to two Hagen 802 powerheads and they are moving the water nicely, I installed a quick filter on each (removed the filter inserts).
The quick filters keep the reef critters out. The Seio's need a better material to be used for the impellar shaft.

I bought one to try it out about a year ago. I put it in my tank, and have done nothing but look at it on occasion, and make sure it's still working.
It has not slowed or stopped that I know of.

I have 3 620s running for about 8 months without a single glitch. Great power heads and very efficient too. 8W to move 620 GPH, NOT BAD. It says on the box or on the powerhead that they are not to be used on the wave devices so maybe that is the problem. I have them running 24/7 and think that these are the best powerheads I've had to date.

Since this post they have been running OK. LOL. Just cant wait to get into my new tank with my tunze's. It ls killing me having them sit there in the box calling my name for the past 6 months.
