Sikryd's Mixed Reef - 200g Deep Dimension - New build in progress

Looking good Chad!

I think you should also keep the tank on the first floor and drill through to the basement to plumb it in to one large sump to run both tanks ... you know 1 tank is just not enough for all the fish and coral you want ;)

Great plans! Can imagine it will be great to have such an area and build it from scratch+incorporate your new tank in it.
Good luck with the build! You already have some very nice corals.

Nice work!! I'll be following along looking to learn a few things along the way. What did you use to create the drawings of your basement layout?

Thanks everyone!

LOL - ONE tank is enough!!! That includes no frag tank or anything of the sort. I have enough on my plate with just this - and the new Baby Sierra is 1.5 weeks out - so I'm sure that'll help keep my mind occupied from wanting more coral or fish!

Thanks! I used google sketch. It was pretty easy to learn and really helped us be able to envision what it will look like. Everything was done to scale so it helped us realize we needed to change a few things. Hence the pool table is no longer in that back room and the tank is on the wall to the right of the stairs.

I should have some more pictures of the basement this week. Drywall was installed yesterday. Tomorrow they are doing tape/texture, then blocking it the next few days.
So far so good.

Bubble King Vertex Alpha 200 will be here Friday

Some quick pictures before the drywall finishers get here

Congrats Chad. Good luck with baby Sierra :)

Thanks Mark - should be any day now. With my luck it will be Saturday with this pummeling of snow we are supposed to get.

The wife sprung for a new skimmer for all the hard work
Its been skimming old vinegar that I cleaned my vortecs with for the last week. I'm pulling the sump out tomorrow to put it in. I tried putting it in last week, but it is too big without pulling sump out from under the stand!

Nice pick-up Chad!

Apparently those things really pull some gunk!:

LOL

I didn't get the sump pulled out. Way too much work. I'd have to pull everything from under the stand. So unless things slow down around here, I'm going to leave my MSX on my current tank and just use the BK for the new tank and to help cycle the rock once I get it.

We're pretty hammered from all the snow, so we'll see how work progresses this week.

The trim and doors should be here today -

The wife is also getting induced tomorrow, so hopefully baby Sierra doesn't slow the progress too much :)

Till then -
