Silicone Cure Time Help

I had to do a repair inm sump yesterday.

I drained the sump, dried it out, and prepped for the repair.

I had a baffel pull loose in my bubble trap, the over of the under-over-under series. Not exactly the fun one to have to repair.

Anyway, I cleaned the glass wiht acetone andslopped on a good healthy bead of silicone. The silicone has set up, but it has been 24 hours, and it is still tacky (sicky to the touch). I have placed a lrage box fan (24") above the sump to move lots of air accross the repair.

How long will this stuff take to cure, it normally takes about 1 day. I am well over 24 hours now, and still tacky. I am guessing that the wet cold weather we are having is playing a role.

I would hate to have to atempte to take it out and start over...

The product will say it will take 24 hours. But thats for simple application.

Usually when we do the baffles in a sump we add a large amount of silicone wich ususally take longer to cure. I say give it more time till it s not easy to puncture the silicone.

Well we are headed to Disneyland, so that should buy me 8 hours of temptation free time... I so want the sump and skimer back in action!

Haha It should be ready to fill hope fully. If you have sun out there already (cuz I do here :) )Leave it out side maybe it will help?

Thanks for your help guys!

I tore it out last night, only cut my self twice.
I got a new tube, and it was installed and cured hard in about 3 hours
