Simplicity DC120 or Tunze 9004 DC?

Looking for opinions on these two skimmers that I have narrowed the field down to.
I was looking at either the Simplicity DC120 or the Tunze DC 9004. Both are the same price. I was looking specifically for a DC pump skimmer for my Waterbox 40.1 (24g display, 14g sump) which has a small 7.12" x 7.12" skimmer area. The above skimmers would fit but I'm worried that the Tunze with a small body might release quite a bit of micro bubbles back into the return chamber. Not that I know if the Simplicity might do the same, hence looking for users.
Also is it true that the Tunze might be the quieter of the 2?

TIA.

I have the 9004 dc, it is a little picky when it comes to the water line. It must stay very consistent. It runs quiet unless some salt creep makes it into the air I take tube then it starts to gurgle, this has only happened once in the last 8 months on mine. Only downside I could say is it skims wet. But I knew that going in so keep an eye on your salinity if you go that route. The pause button is nice and pauses long enough to clean the cup out.

I haven't had any problems with micro bubbles entering the tank, or my other chamber from it.

All in all I would recommend it, mine is running on a jbj 45.

The simplicity DC120 would work a lot more efficiently, but for a tank that size I usually end up with nothing to skim and water changes are enough.

For a tank with that small of a water volume, perhaps you could look at the Ice Cap K2-50. I’m not a fan of oversizing skimmer as they will perform inconsistently, skimming for a little while then idling for a long stretch.

I was looking at the K2-50. It’s just that the specs are so small, 3” body with a neck opening of 1.5”.

That’s precisely why I like it though... consistent performance for your bioload in a 24 gallon DT.
