Simultaneous repair and upgrade?

I've got two 1st generation MP40W units that are giving me headaches. I'm experiencing early magnet rusting (less than 4 months of use, extensive corrosion). Also, both units are seizing thier shafts and separating wet from dry side. The problem has become so bad that I can barely use the pumps. I'm going to send them in for repair, but I'd like to upgrade the units to gen 2 as well.

If the extensive corrosion is covered under warranty, can I get the magnets replaced with the new ones?

If I also send in the controller, can the program be updated at the same time?

What is the expected turn around time for such a change-out?
