skimmer choice

i am ready to take down my 3' downdraft skimmer with its energy hog pump.(blueline 100 series pump)
thinking of trying one of tunzes electronic skimmer part #0240/3.
is the skimmer capable of handling heavily stocked 240 reef tank.
how would this skimmer compare to my existing 3'skimmer(i know this kinda of vague question)

It will produce less skimmate for sure. The 240/3 will be changed soon and would rather you wait for the new design which will be much better.

Probably November. The 3140/2 is halfway their as it has the new pump and venturi but the new cup isn't finished.

are they going to change all the skimmers, i am looking at the 230/3 for my 180.

Someday yes, but on the immediate horizon only the biggest skimmers 3140/2. 3160/2 and 240/3 will be changed.

I would go with the 230/3- simpler, easier to use, works very well.
