Skimmer for 120 SPS/LPS?

Hey all - I need to put a skimmer on my frag tank (~100g total) and thought I would move my ASM G2 down there from my 120DT/40b sump where it now lives. I have plenty of space in the FT sump (rubbermaid stock tank) so it will fit easily.

I am looking for something with a similar or smaller footprint to put in the 40b sump upstairs. The area I have is 11.5x13, so it is kinda cramped with the ASM G2.

The DT is loaded with SPS, LPS, and a couple clams, as well as 9 or 10 fish, the largest being a Tomini Tang, so at least a moderate bioload.

I would prefer not to spend all my $$$, but at the same time, want something that will be more than just adequate.

It must be in-sump. If (when) it overflows, it must be contained in the sump or I will be in deep, deep trouble. Because there is no room inside the stand an external wouldn't work anyway.

Any suggestions?

I am running the Simplicity 240DC on my system with about the same volume and bioload. Have been really impressed with how quiet and efficient it is. It's fairly small and budget friendly as well.

Bill, look in the sale forums here buddy. I seen a lifereef for sale not long ago. I love my bubble king but it's a pricy model. However you are welcome to come by and check it out. I have heard good things about the aquaamaxx brand too. So hard to say, I spent 4 months looking at various skimmers.....WAY TOO LONG

I just got a Icecap K2-160 for my moderately stocked 120. I'm still getting to know it, but so far I'm quite pleased.

It's not silent, but still pretty quiet; barely audible with the doors of my sump closed, and quieter than my Waveline DC 10000 II return pump. It had virtually no breaking period and has been consistently making about 1 ½ cups of dark tea colored skimmate a day. It easily fits in my 40b sump (the Coralvue web site lists the footprint as 6.7 x 8" which is pretty accurate) You may actually be able to use the 120 for your setup.
