The Hydrofoamer is basically a bone they threw at me, we were trying to name the skimmer and I didn't like D.O.C. Skimmer, I wanted something catchy and Hydrofoamer was my name for the skimmer, so they named the combination of our 3000.04 pump with the new venturi the Hydrofoamer. It is more or less a standard venturi skimmer but where it excels is all the bubbles are very small and very evenly sized and we get about a 1-1 air to water ratio. The new skimmers have a lot in common with a Euroreef in the output style, we use black PVC and while the adjustment is done through the air input and not the stand pipe it looks similar. Added to this, you can cap the output and run it like our current skimmers as a closed loop plankton safe in tank skimmer. Nothing to fancy, it works very well though and the price is right and it has a lot of neat features.
