Skimmer Imput Before or After Refugium

Thats what I am wondering , I am only going to be running 200gph through the skimmer ( RPS 2000 ). And all together through the Refugium about 600 GPH. Im planning on supplying water to the skimmer right were the tank flows into the sump after going through the filter socks then bypass it over the ref and have the skimmer out flow come out into the return area of the sump.


Thinking that the refugium will still get the wanted food and waste from the tank.

You will achieve the best skimming with the rawest water coming from your tank. If you can plumb your drain line directly to your skimmer, that would be optimum.

dumping your skimmer into your main pump chamber will likely give you a billion microbubbles going back to the display.
