skimmer mods ????

I was browsing about last night and found a thread on ASM gate valve recirculating skimmer mods. Does anyone know of or have any mods that would work for Euroreef simmers.??? Did a search could not find anything

Hi -

Since both the ASM and Euroreef use the same outflow pipe design, the gate valve is something that can be easily done (and should be, makes it MUCH easier to tune).

While you could take a non-recirculating euroreef and make it recirc, this requires drilling though thick acrylic, a bit trickier then with the thin PVC of the ASM. With the ASM you can also use a uniseal, instead of some special fitting...

I believe that 1.5" pvc fittings fit the vertical riser that comes with the euroreef. You NEED a gate valve, a cheap ball valve is worse then nothing at all..
