To answer your question the skimmer is a SRO 5000INT (one of the earlier models) and it will be enough for your tank and a good bang for buck

It's still a great skimmer. I know they had a one with two eheims that was great. My mistake.

Can someone recommend by experience the best skimmer around $200 for a 50g reef cube with probably a 20g sump, limited space in a cube stand. I will be running biopellets.

Don't agree on that point except having a good pump. Turbulences aren't the real issue in my opinion, the issue is pumping WAY too much air into a small "bodied" skimmer and not allow either enough water to get in be to processed or the water is not staying in the reaction chamber for longer than 30 seconds because the air density is too much and pushes the water to the top of and into the skimmer cup. Dwell time is out the door and as someone here has referenced too already , "many" proteins need a good deal of time to be make their way into the bubble.
As far as my opinion contradicting most of what has been said here, well maybe it's because I've been in this hobby on the retail side /wholsale for over 16 years and have seen skimmers come and go more than most people.
Drea , I'm not going to bother getting into a "****ing" match about how many tanks have pinwheels vs beckett's /downdraft skimmers that are successful .
Let's just say that the best looking large aquariums that I've seen end up using large "power hungry", loud , beckett and or downdraft skimmers to maintain their beauty in the long haul. And I've have used some of the most expensive pinwheels in my day and swithched over to a large dual beckett on my personal large reef and my clientele's large reef systems and they are still going after 16 years !

What do you guys think of a deltec mce 600 (older model) for on a 260l tank? Mainly sps dominated mixed Reef.
Any Thoughts on this?
I might go with the EM 300 to plan for the upgrade next year to a 180 or so.

Hey kevin, from what i have been told, at 200$ the only skimmers really are RO, BM, SWC, and and a few others, i have been suggested the aquamaxx skimmer for 250 but i cant go 250. give us some skimmers u are thinking about

Im getting ready to move from a 120 to a 180. I currently have an ASM G3 and I am of the opinion that maybe its time for a new skimmer? Could you guys throw some opinions on best options my way? The tank will be heavily stocked with fish and I am a keeper of SPS and LPS and Clams.

I have a similar setup and went with the aquamaxx ConeS CO-3
Have you been pretty happy with it? Pro's con's? How long have you been running it.

I did that to my 5000INT ( actually I have 2 extensions). I did this mostly to stabilize the skimmer and so I could run it in deeper water, this helped a bit but what really helped was installing a vented "T" section made from PVC. I now run the skimmer in 9" of water depth and it is very stable
