Skimmer Question

Hey Jeremy, I am in the process of trying to replace my current large foot print skimmer. I have a 180 with a 40 gallon sump. I would say on the heavy stocked side, if not now will be soon! I was eye balling the Super Reef 3000SSS. Reading up on it says that its rated up to 300 gallons is this correct or would be my other readings around 200 would correct? I would like something a little smaller just make make room in my sump. Thanks for your time!!!

Hi,

You would best benefit from an 8" body skimmer, which would be the 3000SSS, or the 3000Int. Going to something that is 10" diameter or 12" diameter is going to be a little too big for that size system in my opinion. The 3000SSS would be a perfect setup for your system.
