Skimmer question

I have ordered my 180 reef ready tank and am currently getting started on building a stand, canopy, sump, etc. I've also been keeping an eye out for any equipment deals that might work well for the new setup. There is currently someone selling a used Octo 300Pro and it looks like it might be a good candidate for me. Let me know what you think. Here is a link to the skimmer from premium aquatics.

Thanks for any help or opinions.

Thanks James. I checked out the links and it looks like the 5 model would be a good skimmer choice for a 180g. I have never heard of them but I will see if I can find any info from people who have used them.
Just for my own clarification here, are you saying that the octo I linked is not a good choice or just giving other options? I know nothing about skimmers other that what I've been trying to read so I'm just trying to understand fully. ;) Thanks.

Josh

just an option....i've never had a skimmer, so just going by what i saw when i was researching my 1st setup i was doing.

i had to sell my BA skimmer & now my new build is an asm g1x

The Octo Pro 300 would be an awesome choice! That Askoll pump is one of the best on the market and Octopus are copies of high end skimmers without the high end price. I run a DNW200 fully modded and have had it for almost 2yrs with no problems and mine skimmes as good as much more costly models. If you want to look at it just let me know.

Good choice, I see you bought the Pro 300. Make sure they pack it good that the pump can't move around and break the body. Ive seen this happen b4 to Angela with one she bought and it arrived broken FYI

Yeah, I did. Thanks for your help. He said he was getting some packing material from premium aquatics to ship it with so hopefully everything will arrive ok.
