Skimmer while on vacation

Complete noob here but what do you guys do about your skimmers when on vacation? Do you need someone to come in and empty it? Do you just turn it off for the week?

You can DIY a storage container using the drain on the collection cup & a bucket. FYI, it will probably smell.

Are you skimming that wet? I have the drain line going into a 32oz Powerade bottle. When I go away I actually turn the skimmer a little higher than normal because I do not have an ATO. When I come back the bottle isn't even half full.

My skimmer cup has a plug hole outlet so you can slide in a hose and let the cup drip into a large container.

Have you checked your skimmer cup for a small tube connector?

Maybe skim a little dryer in general. I would't want to empty more frequently than weekly anyways. At the very least, you could turn it down for the vacation. Off is fine too.

If I tune my skimmer right, it will skim for about 3 weeks untouched. That is what I do on vacation.
