skimmer

I have had a 30 gallon saltwater tank for almost 2 years now, but only fish. Just purchased my first piece of coral and want to get more. I have heard that I need a protein skimmer, but don't know what to get and have limited space. Was wondering what you guys thought about replacing my current filter and just getting a skilter filter, or would you recommend something else. Please help me out.

If you have an under-cabinet sump, the Urchin is an in-sump skimmer. It's well under 200.00 and is easy to set up and run and clean. It handles my 52 gallon quite well.

you'll be unhappy with a skilter. a bakpak, remora, or coralife superskimmer will make you fairly satisfied with the work they'll do on a tank that size

I am planning a seahorse tank that is 29 gallons and from all my research you will get maximun bang for buck out of the small Coralife needlewheel skimmer.IMO Othertwise I would go for a Remora.

I would go for an Aqua C Remora hang-on-back protein skimmer. They are probably the best hang-on-back skimmer you can buy. What kind of filter are you using now?
