Skimz monster 203 help

I've had this skimmer for about two months and I've been pretty happy with it.

The other day after turning it off and then back on it started going crazy. Water was shooting up and overflowing the bucket in seconds. And tons of air bubbles were flying out the gate valve pretty much filling my entire sump with them. I tried adjusting the gate valve or the knob near where the hose connects to that cylinder.

I didn't had anything to the tank so i don't think it is something in it that's making it go nuts. What do you guys think?

Been four days now getting kind of frustrating

I think there is either something like a snail in the pump or your venturi line is clogged. Remove the pump, open it up and see if something got into the intake. While you are at it, inspect the venturi input for salt creep or blockage.

Guess i will have to. It is weird... when I adjust the little valve on the cylinder all the way open, the bubbles stop flying out the gate valve and it overflows. When I tighten it up bubbles fly out the gate and the skim goes low

I agree with slief..

There is a issue with the Air control. I Would start at the silence and check the air line to the injection valve and into the pump.. ..
I Have skimz sm201 and i have to close the air almost closed with gate like 3/4 open .Its a Super powerful pump

I took it apart and still same thing. I wasn't able to figure out how to open the pump up to get the impeller out

Which pump do you have? Have you checked your manual for pump servicing instructions? If you don't have the manual, post a picture of the pump removed from the skimmer body. That should help identify the pump and I am sure we can instruct you on removing the volute to access the impeller. That's probably what its going to take to get this working properly or at least narrow it down.

One question though.. Have you changed anything in your tank or added anything like red slime remover or other chemicals?
