SkullV's SPS Dominated SpecV

Looks great man, glad to see your are still in business!! I love that little SpecV, I have a planted one myself that I was just working on last night after neglecting for a bit. Impressive what you have done with yours, your corals look great!! Photog is getting good too!

I will give you a word of warning though, those derasa's have about a 2mo timeline in your tank tops before they get too big. I had one in my 28g back in the day that I had to sell off within a couple of months because it went from tiny to taking up ALL of my sand space. It was nuts.

Thanks, I don't think there will ever be a time where I don't run a nano of some kind, would have to get rid of my clowns! I hear you on the deresas, these guys are almost ready to get traded out already. Going to go with a maxima next time. Maybe another deresa after that. I also might get rid of my chaeto shortly now that the biopellets are seeded. I can throw a clam or 2 down in the fuge under those LEDs.

I've gotta check out your build, been a while since I've been active on RC!

Maxima's are definitely the way to go, they grow much slower. Plus if you keep an eye out every once in a while you can find an awesome black and white baby maxima from ORA for cheap. Big/wild ones typically go for $500+. Though maxima's are also much harder to keep.

Yeah, I've kept tons of clams over the years. I've found that none of them are really harder to keep as long as you have the light for them. I don't feed the tank anything but acropower for the most part so Only 2+" clams for me. Not trying to get a clam that still needs to filter feed to survive.

Added the other half of the NPX Bioplastics today. Now running around 40ml. Tumbling great in the CPR reactor:

Also took a short video of the sump since some people have asked me about how it's set up. The smaller tank to the left of the sump is my ATO tank. It's just a 2.5g glass aquarium:

Also added a really small Sea Hare from the LFS yesterday. Perfect size for this tank. He fits through all the frags and around both sides of the rock perfectly. I noticed him crusing around picking at the algae on the rock yesterday but still not sure if he can actually pull it out and eat it. I guess we will see.

Cleaned the skimmer last night and re-routed the drain plumbing to move my biopellet reactor to the skimmer chamber. Not terribly pretty but works great:

Then this happened for a second... I miss T5, there were parts of the corals that are normally shaded with my LEDs that were getting great light with this fixture over it. It looked really weird, like white/brown spots in the middle of colonies that just have darkness over them when the LEDs are on:

Finally finished redoing the sump yesterday to have the biopellet reactor in with the skimmer instead of the return. I noticed an almost immediate difference in skimmate production (improved):
