Yea im good with the 4 fish idea in the past year having tank Ive never really stocked up with fish. Went months with the two clowns.

So what fish do u think? I know I want a purple fire fish so that leaves me with two more...

I do run chemipure elite the 50g bag change every 2months. And now setting up a fuge in back chambers. Got the cheato in there yesterday and picking up the lava rock today. I live in Miami so next Tuesday going to go and try and find some mangrove pods out in the wild.

Cool! So you have 1 clown right? You could do
1- clown
1- firefish
1- goby (tiger watchman, pink watchman?)
1- reef safe wrasse, cardinal, blenny, dotyback(aggressive) or go bold with a hawkish will probably attack bottom dwellers (goby and blenny) or do a dwarf lion fish. I kept one in my fusion 20 for 2 years. Sadly didn't make the move. People might not agree with the lion fish but I saved him from a local reefers tank who was just going to "throw him away".

That's sounds like work lol I'm going to check out the hawk fish. And goby's. Never seen a pink one before.

Yah I don't recommend it unless you have a lot of patience and access to live ghost shrimp. It's a pink spotted watchman goby, they are pretty cool. Maybe you can do a flame hawk or long nose hawk with a Midas blenny

Just ordered a diy mesh lid on eBay 23 bucks. Once I get the lid put together and the diy ato going will start adding more fish.

Holding off on corals for a while.

The pink spotted goby and shrimp combo I might go for nut I do have peppermint shrimp do you think would be an issue?

With a hawkfish yes he will eat it but with the goby I think you should be fine.

So just attempted my diy lost switch and a major fail I could not figure out how to wire 12v DC adapter correctly. Think my power source was to weak so I said let me try running it str8 from pump and boooooooom scared the life outta me I don't know how I tank house anything survived.... Think I'm going to try again and order another float switch since it's only three bucks. And take with me to home depot and see if someone can help me out. . If not I'll just have to save up a 100 bucks for one unfortunately..

Just make sure you leave enough room in your tank to hold enough water if it fails

If the failsafe is at 1.8minutes and it's about 35-40" from the tank it should pump about 1/3 of a gallon

So came home from work corals closed up and one of my acro's three branches died on me. It had about 10. So I pull it and broke off dead branches and broke it into a couple frags and placed them randomly in tank. Hoping that some will leave if the colony died off.. we shall see.

Check parameters.
Salt
1.026
Alk 8
Cal 500
Phos basically zero
Nitrates basically zero

Using red Sea pro salt
And dosing aqua vitro line up all rotate different days and one day gets nothing.
Fuel 2 times a week 7ml
Ions 2 times a week 7ml
Calcification 2 times a week 7ml
Vibrance. Daily 2 ml

Don't have a mag test .

And my clown been acting real weirdly ever since the other died. Do I need to rush into another do clowns act weird when partner dies. I never even found the body lol

Tank still up and running going to post some updates. Been through some ups and downs hurricane last year killed of everything but now we're back full of frags and hoping for the best.

Tank is still the same IM 30micro
Running a hydra 52
Red Sea coral color program
Mangroves growing from the wild
Don't use the skimmer anymore
Testing weekly until I find the sweet spot
Going for Red Sea SPS tank numbers

I have added 18 frags over the past two weeks so far only two losses. And I think mostly due to shipping.
All mostly across and Montis

Light I purchased used online AI hydra 52 non had but came with director and goose neck so was a great deal for the price I got it. I love it and yes I I have clouds lighting lunar and acclimation on lol I run the light on I guess a crazy schedule compared to others I use all colors aside from white mostly more 20k than anything. Thinking of running one of the BRS lighting schedules.

Skimmer I've never been able to really get glowing I don't think I have enough dirt in water so to speak. So just in chamber floating.

I run a jbj ATO for top off with tap and a drops to clean it up.

I have zero algae knock on wood. Very light clean up crew but 3 emerald crabs that I think keep it tight.

Fish 2 fancy clowns I forgot there names.

Last year Irma came through we had no power for 9 days tank sat and turned to mush after two years of growth and a full reef it was a hard thing to watch but know I'm back and going for it.

Would like to have a mostly montipora tank I have five in tank now and we shall see hopefully a year from now as my wife says my tank flourishes agian. Pics coming soon
