SLASH Coral Growing Contest: Leishman's Tabling Acro

Dennis - what are those two other frags? (the ones that didn't die)

-Mike

I really don't know considering they came from Smack. Front right was a piece that broke off of a branch of Nook's Cookies. Smack must have named that one. The front left is from Smack's Pink Lemonade? I don't see anything pink on it yet. Back is pieces I glued to a plug from a coral frag I got from smooth. Palmer's Blue? I really need to write these down and get the true names. Stop using Smack as an excuse even though it's the truth.

The ones you got from me came from twiggys 225 and thats where the names came from too

My little frag is alive and has great polyp extension. At this rate I might have to get a taller tank to accommodate its future growth.

Mine came off the original plug sometime over the last 24 hours....... Never to fear though I found it under the frag rack and reglued. It is all fuzzy again.

I glued my frag mid tank on a nice rock, Its starting to get some nice color on the area that was smooth and pale when I got it. It seems happy, and is nice and fuzzy most of the time.

The growth have white flesh and it grows a little horizontal so the underside doesn't get any light. That's why some if the frags have a pale look. It will color up.

My frag seems to have dulled abit, it has uniform polyp extension and I can see its getting adjusted to the flow (seems to have bent slightly, its not in my mind I tell you!) No real signs of growth yet, the sand-dollar monti next to it on the other hand is really packing on a nice growth-ring.
I'm wondering if adding the phosban 150 made it mad, it may be my mind playing tricks but it seemed happier pre reactor.

cheers

still alive.........

still alive.........

moved it back to the frag rack, my turbo snail keeps popping it off the rocks.

I am surprised its still alive, I'm new to all this SPS craziness.
Cheers,
Tom

Today the frag really must be feeling good. Twice the PE and getting some nice light pinks on its skin. The polyps are a soft white not clear like before. Its still hasnt grown much but a few new polyps are around its bottom. Looking at my log book the only real change was adding the frag tanks extra 43 gallons last month to the system and lowering the MH run time on the DT to 6 hours from 8 this week to help beat back some algae now that the tangs not around.

Mine is encrusting very nicely. Matter of fact, where it is encrusting it appears greenish. Color is still a pinkish red.

Kind of like a red planet, the base gets to be a green/yellow color depending on the amount of light. Glad they are growing for you. Mine encrusted quite a bit before growing out.
