Bulksupplements doesn't have aspartate.
Aspartate either comes in potassium aspartate or magnesium aspartate.

The glutamine can be found from Bulksupplements brand.

Which aspartate did you use?

They do, it's L-aspartic acid. Aspartate is just the ionized form of the molecule after it gives up its hydrogen in a relatively high enough pH (which shouldn't be an issue in most reef tanks since aspartate's pKa is 3.9). The same is true for glutamate. I think you're confusing glutaMATE (glutamic acid) for glutaMINE. They are different molecules altogether.

Last month posting here.. update on what's been crazy with my experimental tank.
Will get some photos up soon...

Basically started making my own balling trace elements.
1) Strontium / Barium - to add to the Calcium
2) Heavy metals - copper, cobalt, nickel, chromium, manganese, zinc, molybdenum, iron, selenium - to add to the Calcium
3) Boron, Bromide - Separate bottle
4) fluorine, iodine - to add to the Alkalinity

So far its been good - for 1 month now with no ill effect.
Colours and growth have been great.

Before I was testing out the manganese, zinc and iron dosing on its own. That was inspire by Matt's post. I have since stop as it was pulling things out of wack because I was pushing the system too hard and caused some RTN with zinc.
