Slip x Thread Bulkhead Question

I've always used the slip x slip for PVC and the slip x barb for vinyl . I ran across some slip x thread or thread x slip and was wondering if anyone has used them ?

If is what I think it is , I screw in my drainpipes right ? Just put a union on them and take them completely out when need instead of cutting them all the time ? I wanted to go PVC or Flex PVC but I always hate cutting them when I take the tank down . This would allow me to just take the union apart and unscrew the pipe right ?

I'm not sure which I need though ... Thread x slip or slip x thread .

Has anybody had any leaks with these ? That's all I'm worried about or I'm going to order them . Was going to get the ones from bulk reef supply .

slip x slip bulkhead-----3" pvc------slip x male thread adapter------female thread x slip union---- allows the removal of bulkhead without cutting. On top of the union must be removable in order to get the bulkhead out if needed without doing major cutting. Using silicone paste goes a long way in preventing leaks

I used threaded bulkhead, and I hated them. 4 out of 5 leaked, even though I applied thread sealer liberally. If I'd do it again, I'd go for slip.

That's what I was worried about . With a glued union I would have to cut because the union is to big to come up three the hole . So your saying to just have the threaded section right on top of the union . Then the rest of the fittings will come up through the hole ? I guess that would make since . Standard Aqueon Drilled 120 with dual overflows. So I guess the wholes would be big enough . I was just wondering if the bulkheads were worth a crap or not . Guess I'll just do this probably . I've always used tape too, I still have to try the paste . Can I get that stuff anywhere ?

ive always used thread x thread fittings and never had any issues with leaks, just use some teflon tape to the threads and all good. makes it much easier to tear down to change things around if needed.

I've always used slip x thread. Makes like easier. I'm also not a fan of using PVC glue in poorly ventilated areas. Being able to do all the gluing outside instead of at the tank is a huge plus.
