small egg sacs ??

Jawbone flats

ok so I have some new things on my tank that I am sure are probably nothing but figured I would ask.

They appear like egg sacs with about 100 yellow eggs in them
possibly Snails ?

I know the pictures are bad but I am trying to hold a magnifying glass up to them and then using the Super Macro mode on camera to take the picture.

the original pictures are larger if you click the pics you can see them

I think they're snail eggs as well. Which type, I don't really know. What kind of snails do you have in your tank? Some lay eggs, some are broadcast spawners.

I may be wrong, but I think turbo snails are broadcast spawners, so not them. As far as "ninja stars" go, I don't know what those are. To be honest, they actually look kind of like nerite snail eggs, but I don't remember ever being able to see through them though. You might want to try posting your picture in the Other Invertebrates forum. There's a few gurus there that are very good at identifying things for people. GL.

collumbelid (or dove) snails leave eggs like that too. They are very small, very awesome snails that usually hitch a ride in our tanks. Awesome little snails.. wish I had lots!!!

Are they clear on the top, or white? If they're clear, they do look like Columbellid snail eggs. Collonista's lay similar egg sacs, but they have a "spout" or opening that Collumbellid snail eggs don't have. If they're white on top, I'd say Nerite snail eggs, though it's really hard to make out any color detail with all the blue.

Not sure why it looks so blue but like I said I was trying to hold a very small magnifying glass up and then my camera with the other hand to try and get the best picture. I will try and get another one in the morning when the lights come back on and see what they look like from the other side of the tank.. they are on the front near my frag rack wich is the only reason I noticed them.

I thought they were some barnacle or something till I spotted the little yellow whatever it is inside

I've always had Collumbellid snails in my tanks, I've got some pretty good pics of them laying the eggs & the eggs too.
