Small Macro Eating Addition?

I posted this on the main board a few days ago but haven't gotten a response. I've always had better luck getting questions answered locally so here it goes....

I've really neglected my tank for the past few months. I haven't done a water change in months. Pretty much all I've done is make RO water for my ATO and feed my livestock. Skimmer has been off, no pads changed in the overflow box or sump. I've got a clown, royal gramma, at least 1 cleaner shrimp, a few snails and crabs and a mixed bag of softies, lps and sps. Ironically, I've had the best growth I've ever had and I can't remember the last time I changed my bulbs. Probably over a year! Some hair algae too.

It's time to start taking charge of the tank again. I plan to slowly start cleaning everything so as to not shock the system. Once i get it looking better I'd like to introduce some more livestock but I need one in particular.

I got a piece of coral a few years ago and there was some kind of purple macroalgae on it. It's actually very pretty and it's VERY brittle if you touch it. A yellow tang was introduced to a different tank last year and it made quick work of the purple macro. That was cool but I'd also like to SEE the macro instead of it being devoured.

So, is there a smaller macroalgae eating animal I can introduce to simply keep the macro at bay and NOT make it disappear? The purple macro is about the size of a bowl of cereal. I'm not even sure what it is exactly so here's a pic.
