Has anybody ever made a really small sump? Like less than 5 gallons small? I would like to have a sump for my 10g but because of space I need something small

I've been thinking about something like that for my 20 long. Get the heater and ato out of the tank. I'd like a little mechanical filtration and maybe a nano skimmer.

I've seen a ~2-3 cup sump on a super small 2G nano tank..

It can be done sure.. But why?
Water changes alone are all you need on a tank that small IMO..

Never did really find the water changes helpful tho both me and another friend were talking about jt we never really had a problem until we did a water change. Why not leave it to run its course like it does in the ocean

If you have a problem after a water change it is probably the water you are using to make the change. That or the dkh/cal was so tanked that you shocked the system with the water change. If you make regular water changes with known good water all will be good.

Yeah the scale of the ocean is different but it does happen to fix itself doesn't it? That's how most of us try to be about it around here
