i was wondering if anyone ever got hit by a smasher...
i was thinking it might be like a big glove punch but the claws arent that big so it might be like a bullet... thats what im scared of
think i should be scared of a 6in smasher or smaller. i want to add coral wit them but if i stick my hand in i dont want to bring it out all beaten up.
thanx

my finger was hit a couple of times.
it felt like a hard finger flick. but then again my finger was not against anything (which would probably hurt more)

can a full grown peacock shrimp @ 6" break the glass of a 30 gallon tank if it wanted to? Ive gotten a mixture of answers and i dont know which one to believe.

a friend said yes, another said they wont hit it, but what if it does would it break is what i am thinking.
i asked if they could live with reef, this one dude said the shrimp would eat it of mess it up, and others said it was ok.

so whats the deal?

my 4" peacock hits the glass all the time. i have the 10 gallon tank setup in the bedroom and i hear her smashing away at the glass while i cringe and pray that it doesn't break.

so far, so good.

so far im heading toward the 20 gallon used for 40 bucks. gonna try to make a deal.
ill need 2 bulk heads. one of those grilled screw on things and the flexi hose for current.
10 gallon tank as sump, gotta 200 watt vista therm heater already. gonna buy a 70 buck in sump skimmer from aqua clear @ petsolutions.com some live rock and sand in the LFS and find myself a peacock shrimp.

what else do i need to start?
hydro meteR?
additives?
what kinda water?
i can get that R/O water but this is all i know about salt
