Smiddy's 260 build

Thank you!

I do have a facebook just don't use them very often. I will look it up. Are you guys over by Vegas somewhere? Or havasue?

I don't live in the area anymore, but there's a couple of my buddies in kingman, there's some in Havasu and Bullhead city too. The guys in kingman would be the closest to you, right off the 40 and about 80 miles from Vegas.

Join the FB group and hit up Jesse and Dean, they always have frags. Jesse is in the process of setting up a prop system in his garage. He's the SPS and BTA guy, Dean is the zoa and shroom man, lol.

Looking good.

When my 140 broke I had to move everything from buckets to my 240. The 240 basically had enough time for water to mix then all new sand, all my live rock and even a coupe clown fish went into it.

I hooked up my sump/refugium from the 140 and never saw a cycle due to all the biological filtration. You probably wont see much of a cycle.

Mic:

I will join group once I remember by facebook password... I don't drive out that often but defiantly worth a stop when I do. Its funny I am actually going to Vegas this weekend the Lake havasue the following. Might be the perfect time except my 120 will be done and my 260 will not be ready for SPS yet so that might be hard.

Jay:

Thank you. I wasn't planning on seeing much of a cycle from the add on of the cube. I was thinking more along the lines of: I have been adding pure ammonia to the system to elevate the levels to 2-3ppm. Now that I have stopped and have three little fish I was thinking they do not produce ammonia at the same level as I was dosing the tank with meaning the bacteria population could potentially drop? That's what I was thinking. I know that's not a bad thing and it is trying to reach equilibrium. But just being in the mind set of "my tank can handle X amount but I only put in a fraction of that so the bacteria will die off that I just spent two weeks growing haha" Totally impatient act I know.

Still pretty empty... There are three fish in there somewhere.. Still waiting to add my other two radions off of my 120.

I have added my last piece of live rock from my 120 to my 260 and removed the the seed rock as well. I have also slowly added half of my fish from my 120. Which entails: Leopard wrasse, Midas blenny, 3 chromis, PJ cardinal, baby blue tang, yellow tang.
Still have to add my: Flasher wrasse, Purple firefish, 2 anthias, mimic tang, cleaner wrasse, flame hawkfish, clowns.

To do list:

1) Finish the transfer of fish
2) Transfer the reamining 2 Radion lights
3) Transfer the dosing pumps
4) Transfer the remaining reactor
5) Transfer 2 more MP40's
6) Transfer the remaining coral (most was given to a friend to babysit)

I think this is the final scape please be honest I am pretty sure I am emotionally stable to handle it.

For those who are going to say you have a monti in there already... Yes you are correct it was to damn encrusted to remove without making it look silly. So I hope it will survive in a very a young tank.

The fish are still camera shy in the new tank.

Update: 1 Month a some change

Nice to see fish swimming in that thing. Great combination of color choices as well.
