I just can't live with someone having a bigger and more complicated system than me, so I went ahead and purchase another profilux EX and a SMS device..... LOL Now both will be linked lan and Wlan.... Now I can rest better! yes, you need a PC for the settings. The settings are to manifold to manage them with the device only.
You can use a USB-RS232 converter. Win98 may work - test it. As far as I know some menus are without function but I don't think you need them for adjusting the SMS unit.
SIM card copy: I have no experiences with that - I don't know it.
