SMS card - the one for your phone would have been locked to your phone, I had same issue you need a new dedicated pay as you go, this is all to do with stopping sim fraud.

Excellent use for the alarm though ;)
No it wasn't locked, tried it in 3 diff phone and it worked in all 3 phone except the SMS unit!

what sim was it? if not pay as you go no it wont work.

I assume it was Rogers being the only GSM network in canada!

It was obviously rogers, It was my wife cell phone sim card which is a regular subscription, and the tried mine which is also a regular and mine worked..... Hers work in my phone and her phone but not in sms and mine works everywhere!

There is obviously something blocking it in the sim card, either pin number or set for use in certain types of phones, these are the reasons for using dedicated pay as you go sims.

Just got back from a 2 week vacation. With the ProfiLux running and monitoring my tank, the SMS module provided me with some much appreciated peace of mind and let me know that my temp, pH, redox and salinity parameters were all in line.

I'm just waiting for GHL to take a look at automatic feeders!

Just got the SMS unit and i love.

Got one big problem though. My AI light no longer gets commands? I have tried turning Special Lamp off then on again and still nothing.

What flash version are you using? I had a similar issue, but it was corrected when I updated the flash to 1.1.

AI lamp: At the moment no chance to connect AI and SMS at the same time. I am thinking about an extra card for this purpose.

Firmware: If you want the newest version then contact me directly via email, please.

Hi Matthias,

Do you have any idea on when the extra RS232 card might be available? I really want to get my AI lights going through the Profilux again.

Bummer.

Ok what is the latest firmware for the SMS unit?
I'm running 1.01 and i have had the unit for about 5 days now. Every so often i check the SMS unit and it is flash red indicating a network error. I turn the unit on and off and it's fine again. It has done this to me twice. It's an easy fix but something i can't do if i'm not at home and would defeat the purpose of having a SMS unit anyway. Will new firmware fix this?

I think Matthias is working on some fine tuning to the SMS firmware at the moment he can provide a bit more info than I on this.

A lot of drop outs are due to the service provider signal dropping in peak times like a cell phone, so always place the unit as best as possible in good signal strength

Matthias is working on some updates which will also help :)

Hi Michael,

Yeah i understand it would be a provider problem on the drop out. My concern is that i have to reset the unit to get it to connect again. The signal is there because as soon as it resets we are good to go again.

I would connect it to the Profilux power bar to cycle the power every 12 hours but due to the battery that won't work.

I'm sure Matthias will have a fix for this in no time.

Hiya

I think Ken does this, he has it on the power bar or at least a time I think, maybe wrong but sure i saw a thread about this, or was it email?

Ken, you out there?

I have access to the codes that are used to program the SMS unit and believe me the manual is vast with so many different options, there more than likely is one for auto reset. Hopefully matthias can find it ;)

Michael,

To reset the sms module I was physically turning the unit off and then on (as chiefzod indicated, resetting the power on the power bar would not work.)

Since upgrading to version 1.02 I have had no problems.
