Snail like creature on clam

I moved my clam around today and suddenly I found this on the side of it. No idea what it is, white shell, black snail like creature, has antennas and has its trapdoor cover on its head, it was eating some slime off the clam. Trying to determine if its dangerous to the clam yet or not. Looked through some hitchhiker guides but couldn't find anything.

That is a parasitic snail. You should remove him. You should be able to pluck him off with a pair of tweezers.

Thanks I dont know if I'll be able to pluck him really since his shell is literally made onto the clam like someone just took a bunch of elmers glue and just stuck him to there and made a home out of it. I'll figure someway to get it off though if he doesnt come off too easy.

Maybe you can crush him in his shell with a pair of sidecutters. One won't kill the clam outright but will irritate and stress him.

Yeah I'll probably have to go the side cutter route still an interesting creature nonetheless I've never see one before do you happen to know the name of it? My g/f thought it was kind of cute since he has the little trap door cover on his head and peeks out lol. Thanks for your help btw if I didnt get a reply I was going to try to get it off anyways I was more fearful it was going to be something that could possibly bore into the clam itself.
