Snail that preys on clams?

OK, we are talking the little pyramid snails, I'm asking about bigger snails. I caught two snails attached to the bottom of my baby maxima. I just got the maxima and a crocea, but I've had a small derasa for a while. I've never seen them bother the derasa, but tonight I came home and saw that both snails had attached themselves to the bottom of the maxima. The snails are maybe a half inch in length. Cone shaped shell, dark colored. Almost a dark gray shell. I have some pics and I'll post them if necessary, but I was wondering if there are any known snails like this that prey on clams. They also have a syphon coming out, kinda like a nacarius snail(sand dwellers perhaps). Thanks in advance.

there are a lot of large snails that will pray on clams. im not very good at snail id, but go ahead and post the pics and im sure someone will help you out

OK, well, since I removed the snails last night from the clam, the clam hasn't opened up much. It still responds to movement and such, but it's barely opening. Before this event, it opened up fine. I notice that there might be a little damage at the bottom of the clam. What can I do at this point to help the clam?
