Kind of a silly question but do snails kill other snails. I'm trying to figure out why I'm missing my turbos and the only thing that I can figure is the snails that burrow in the sand are behind the killing..
They spend most of thier time in the sand but I've seen them on the glass and rocks..

Yes, there are a great many snail species that either specialize in preying upon other snails or are capable of multiple food sources, which include other snails. Those snail species such as the Nassarius and Olive that use the sandbed simply as a hiding place can be capable of going after other snails. With that said though, there are a number of other possibles that include flatworms (polyclad) and other worms (polychaete) along with many other creatures that have found slow moving snails an easy food source.
Also keep in mind that excessive magnesium levels are very detrimental to inverts.

Holy Cow ..... I knew it.. The only time I saw one on top of the turbo I pulled it off and its mouth was inside the turbos shell. I mean as I pulled it the only thing left was the mouth and I kept pulling till the mouth let go...

I'm in trouble cause I've got atleast 3 big ones and several small ones{14 or so}. Any suggestions what I should do with them once I get them out of the tank...I mean I can't put them in the sump...can I ?

thanks agin for the ID
