It is now time to setup my new 400 gallon and I hope this time it'll look much better than my previous setups, I'm not saying this is my last setup this tank is not my dream tank my dream tank is a little bigger than this one but I'm ok with this one for now because I was tired of having a tiny tank of only 50 gallons for more than 2 years so now it's time to setup my new 400

These are photos of my tanks from the past years

And my 50 gallons for now ;)
Sorry bad pic

And now here's my new 400 gallos 100x36x24 with ajustable overflow is made from leemar eurobrace and my good friend Aaron from sps corals he did a special Job for me he removed the whole eurobrace from the top of the tank and made a stainless steel frame for me and he put it all together I can tell you guys he did a very good job

Here are some pictures of before and after

I'm going to try to keep most SPS and few LPS, about the equipment I don't know sure yet is hard to decide with all new technology but for sure I'm going to use 4 MH 400 radium bulb and aquamax in sump # 6

You must have got one of LeeMar's last tanks before they stoped making them. Oh almost forgot great tank, great build. Wish I could have one that size.

Hugo,

Congratulations on rejoining the big boys!!!

Come visit me at the frag swap on the 27th. My tank is still rebuilding from the crash last fall, but there might be a couple of pieces you might want to try to get me to frag for you.

Good luck with the progress. If there is anything I can help with let me know.

Dave

Thank you guys for all the compliments

Dave I'll see you at the frag swap at your house
My stand is almost done

Wow, can't wait to see this tank get up and running. I have always admired your 300 gallon! Quick question, how much weight does that stand hold? Its very pretty, but putting 400 gallons on top would scare me. I'm sure its fine, I'm just paranoid ;)

Hello everyone,
I'm interested in this thing but not experienced. Wanted to have a one like everyone of you having and talking about. So could anyone of you can suggest me a good one?
I'll appreciate appropriate responses.
Thanks in advance.
Actually I'm new to the site.

Nice build. Nice design on the stand.

But a word of caution. Even though you used stainless steel for the top, it will still eventually rust being around a salt water enviroment.

Having rode ships all across the ocean for the last 35 years, the only metal I've seen that didn't rust was titanium. Even powdercoated metal will rust thru. Not sure why you replaced the glass eurobrace.

What type of finnish are they doing on the wood to seal it?

It looks like 2 X 4's for teh corners and up rights and I assume for the horzontials as well. I usually double mine but the way the stand is built, it should hold the weight with no issues. I've built a few stand before. Building one now for a 98" long 36" wide tank.

Nice build and stand!

I am just starting the 180 to 400 move. mixed reef

Talking to Jeff of life reef about a sump and PS for it.

I will tag along to see how you do it
