Snorkeling spot in Cuba

I’m planning a trip to Cuba in February or March and would love to have a day to go snorkeling.

Does anyone have some suggestions for around Havana? I plan to stay in the old part but would not mind a bit of travel if it means a good snorkeling trip. :)

Thanks for the advise!

I was there in the summer, we went to cayo coco which i belive is a few hrs from Havana. Theres a little private island called pilar island about 40 mins from cayo coco. We took a shuttle bus there. Then you pay a few dollars like $2 and you take a boat to the private island. Its amazing there. you can snorkel and scuba dive there and see wonderfull things. There are sunken ships and planes there to aswell as a open bar and free food on the island.

My father was a competetive diver represting Cuba in the 50's (Before it went communist). He's told me how beautiful the reef was there. Here's some pretty cool pics from those days. Sorry for being a little off topic here.

The reef and fish are amazing there, lots and lots and lots of amazing things to see there, watch out for the barracuda they are every where . I have some pics of the reef/fish I will have to post them at some point for you to see.

Very cool Pictures Megabite! Thanks!

And thanks Jordan, I’m really looking forward to this trip and its going to be pretty cheap too as they are offering direct fights from Charlottetown to Havana this winter :)

A weeks stay with the flight should be just under $1000 so it is easy on the bank....
