Snowflake/black ice clownfish fry

I never finish anyth
This is my first attempt raising fish larvae, its been a bit of a learning experience! I don't own the parents, just picked the eggs up from a local hobbyist.

I picked up the snowflake x black ice eggs on 5/7.

They hatched the night of 5/9, I got an estimated 150 to hatch. I lost most of them on days 2 and 3, but I had approx 40 left that went through metamorphosis. Lessons learned - light too bright, a little too much flow, water too cold. I had them in a black round tub with an airstone and heater (after a few days) and clip-on worklamp above them. Day 7 I moved them over to a 10 gallon aquarium with blacked out sides. A few days later about half of them showed at least a little stripe. They grew a little slower than normal because I didn't have a heater in with them for the first few days.

Day 10:

13 days old.

Today (2.5 weeks old) - stripes continuing to develop well, I'm very curious how the final patterning will turn out :)

These babys look amazing. I love how their stripes are developing. Great job for your first try. I am on batch number 2 with only 1 left. I do have a nest of eggs due to hatch next Saturday so I am gonna give it another try.

Thanks everyone :) I'll post some new pics soon, they're growing so fast!

Can I ask what you paid for the eggs? Good luck & keep us posted.

I didn't pay anything for the eggs, the deal we have is that the owner of the parents will get 1/3 of the batch, and I keep 2/3 + my pick of the best.

They're doing good, continuing to grow :) They're almost completely on dry food now, though they love to eat bbs still. I have a small aquaclear pump for circulation along with a small sponge filter.
