I have two snowflake clowns and would like to know what is the best anemone for them? Atm they are hosting a really nice hammer I got and even tho its cool I can notice the hammer is not as happy anymore and afraid the clowns my kill it over time

Do you have experience with anemones? If not, then most will recommend a bubble tip anemone because they are hardy nems that can do well in less than optimal conditions, but there's no guarantee that the snowflakes will take it as their host.

Since snowflakes are ocellaris, their natural host anemone are H. magnifica, S. gigantea, and S. mertensii. All are considered difficult anemones and not recommended for those who don't have experience with anemones. Specifically, they are not good shippers and tend to get infections that require treatment.

I have experience with rbt nemes and the DT tank I have a is a mixed tank from softies lps and sps so if keeping water quality is all I need for those type of nemes then I should be fine

First, the anemone is the host, not the fish.

I really have a lot of luck using Malu for host of Ocellaris clowns. They are relatively hardy, easier to get this anemone then the natural host for Ocellaris (mentioned by D-Nak), stays small (max at about 8 inches) and stay on the sand thus does not sting or kill your corals.
Consider this species of anemone for host of Ocellaris or Percula.

Ok been looking for the malu like you suggested but my lfs only get rbta.gbta or condy....so I'm going to try liveaquaria even tho I'd rather not go thru an online supplier

Ended up getting two really nice BTA and the clowns are all over them but they still constantly go on my hammers. Will they eventually leave the hammers alone or will they just keep going from hammers to anemone whenever they want?

There's no guarantee with a non-natural host. As far as hosts go, the BTA may be as viable to them as the hammers. Natural hosts will for sure draw the clowns.

Late response but I have to agree, the BTA is a good choice. My snowflake was all over the BTA and the nem didn't mind. It actually split into two a few days ago, I take that as a good sign.
