Snowflake Compatability

I currently have a 5"+ Porc Puff, 3" Tom Clown, and a 3" Lawnmower Blenny. My LFS has a 2.5' SFE. Would this be okay or will it just eat/kill my fish?

Added note. The lfs has had it for almost 6 months now in a 30 gal with a small pvc pipe and has only fed it rosies. I feel bad and want to put it into my 135 where it can have some swim room and eat better food. Not just rosies.

You're talking a full-grown SFE, and IME/IMHO, you'll end up with a SFE and a puffer.

I have a near 2 ft long snowflake eel in my tank along with a number of fish including 5 chromis and clowns. He has never bothered those fish although I do think he got my diamond goby.

Did you get the SFE small and grow with the others or did you get it large? I'm concerned because I've read mixed reviews. Some say never had a problem, others say they're fine until they mature then go and kill all but the largest fish. Also this one has been fed live for so long now, I dont want it to continue in my tank.

For the most part it does not matter if they were raised together, I have seen sfe's be in the same tank with the same fish for a couple years and then eat them and I have seen an adult placed in a tank with small fish and not bother them. It is a gamble and depends a lot on the individual eel, tankmates, how often fed etc.

What smaller eel might I be able to get away with and keep my current fish?

I got mine when it was medium sized. Probably about 12" or so. It's double that now I'd guess. All the small fish were already in the tank when I got him.
