New to the site, not new to salt tanks. Only ever had fish with live rock... I got this at the LFS yesterday, floating in a tank filled with tangs. I also got it for free. I have no idea what it is at all, So I took some of my reef glue, and stuck it to my live rock, What is it, I love it whatever it is, what will it do how can I take care of it ?? It opened up over night and it looks pretty cool to me please someone or everyone advise me on what I got image.jpg

Definitely a type of zoanthid or palythoa. I can't say for sure exactly what kind for sure but looks like an eagle eye to me. I'm also not exactly sure what the care requirement are but I used to not be able to keep polyps very well the first couple years of have a reef. I took my tank down almost a year ago and set it back up in December of 2014 and since then I've had great luck with polyps. I probably have 10 different frags and they're all doing great. They grow in matts and the base will eventually start to grow over the super glue and start sprouting more

Thanks Ron, so here it is tonight under the acctitic lights, Photo isn't the best but it's has a blue center, red around that, then the outside arms or tentacles are neon green/yellow, Anyone else for ideas on type bc I have none, is it rare or common? How do I take care of it? image.jpg
